Clearing the stock and cleaning the tank together is what makes it fit for reuse. Farms clearing surplus, sold or dispersed holdings, and contractors caught by the rule change are the typical jobs. Volume ranges from a part-full bowser to a full bulk tank, quoted per litre against the access. Safe disposal routes the red diesel to a licensed facility for recovery or destruction and documents it, so the duty of care sits with a paper trail rather than with you guessing. For disposal, the licensed route and the documentation are the job. Fuel collected in Wester Hailes Edinburgh is taken to a permitted facility, recovered or destroyed, and logged on a transfer note you keep as compliance evidence. ## Local Scottish red diesel disposal in Wester Hailes Edinburgh: the facts Fuel | Red diesel | Service | Collection and licensed disposal | Council area | City of Edinburgh | Postcode districts | EH14 | Why it degrades | Ages like diesel, plus a legal marker dye that stains tanks | Typical sources | Farms, plant, generators, bowsers, decommissioned tanks, closing businesses | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | SEPA | Typical cost | Quoted per litre | Attendance | Collected and disposed of under licence | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where red diesel comes from around Wester Hailes Edinburgh Around Wester Hailes Edinburgh the red diesel we collect and dispose of comes from estates and large gardens clearing old gas-oil stock from mowers, generators and heating plant.
