Contaminated kerosene that keeps tripping the burner is the other frequent job. Rather than fight it filter by filter, the old oil is removed, the tank checked, and fresh fuel put in clean. Once lifted, the kerosene is disposed of through a licensed route — recovered where it can be, destroyed where it cannot — and every step is captured on the waste transfer note you keep. Done properly, disposal gives you a defensible trail. The fuel from Wester Hailes Edinburgh is destroyed or recovered at a licensed facility, and the documentation issued is what protects you under the duty-of-care regime. ## Local Scottish kerosene disposal in Wester Hailes Edinburgh: the facts Fuel | Kerosene | Service | Collection and licensed disposal | Council area | City of Edinburgh | Postcode districts | EH14 | Why it degrades | Grows water sludge and bacteria over time; fouls the boiler nozzle | Typical sources | Home heating tanks, decommissioning, boiler upgrades, house sales, estates | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | SEPA | Typical cost | Quoted per litre | Attendance | Collected and disposed of under licence | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where kerosene comes from around Wester Hailes Edinburgh Most of the kerosene we collect and dispose of near Wester Hailes Edinburgh originates in deceased estates and probate properties where the oil tank has to be cleared under duty of care.
