In a tank it slowly degrades, and where rain or condensation has got in it grows sludge and bacteria that block the boiler's fine nozzle. Volume ranges from the dregs in a nearly empty tank to a recently filled 1,000-litre store. Either is collected; the quote follows the litres and the access. The disposal side is the paperwork and the destination. The kerosene is routed to a licensed facility, processed or destroyed, and logged on a transfer note so you can show it was dealt with lawfully. Disposal closes the duty-of-care loop for a site in Kirkton Dundee: permitted facility, lawful handling, and a transfer note that answers the only question that matters if anyone asks — where did it go and can you show it. ## Local Scottish kerosene disposal in Kirkton Dundee: the facts Fuel | Kerosene | Service | Collection and licensed disposal | Council area | Dundee City | Postcode districts | DD3 | Why it degrades | Grows water sludge and bacteria over time; fouls the boiler nozzle | Typical sources | Home heating tanks, decommissioning, boiler upgrades, house sales, estates | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | SEPA | Typical cost | Quoted per litre | Attendance | Collected and disposed of under licence | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where kerosene comes from around Kirkton Dundee Most of the kerosene we collect and dispose of near Kirkton Dundee originates in domestic heating oil tanks decommissioned when a home switches to a heat pump, gas or a new system. A registered carrier attends home, farm, depot, marina and commercial sites, pumps out the kerosene and issues a waste transfer note on site. **Can I empty my own oil tank?** It is safer and cleaner to have it pumped out by a registered carrier, especially as the oil is hazardous waste that cannot be tipped away. You also get a transfer note. **Do you decommission the tank too?** We pump out and remove the kerosene and can advise on or arrange tank cleaning and decommissioning. Tell us what you need when you call. **How much notice do you need?** Often a collection can be booked quickly; the window is confirmed with the quote before anyone travels. Access and volume set the timing. **Will you take contaminated kerosene?** Yes — water-logged, sludged or bacterially spoiled kerosene is collected and disposed of the same way, with documentation. ### One operator, four sites Fuel Fixer Scotland is the Scottish arm of Fuel Fixer Ltd.
