Domestic and commercial jobs alike are handled — a single house tank, a bunded commercial store, or a farm tank — quoted per litre against volume and access. Proper disposal means a permitted end point and a documented trail. The heating oil is taken to a licensed facility for recovery or safe destruction, and the transfer note is your record of compliant disposal. The compliance value of proper disposal is the record. The fuel leaves Port Seton for a permitted facility, and the transfer note captures the movement — the difference between disposed of and merely gone. ## Local Scottish heating oil disposal in Port Seton: the facts Fuel | Heating oil | Service | Collection and licensed disposal | Council area | East Lothian | Postcode districts | EH32 | Why it degrades | Kerosene or gas oil; collects water, sludge and bacteria and corrodes tanks | Typical sources | Tank decommissioning, heating changes, contamination, sales, spills, estates | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | SEPA | Typical cost | Quoted per litre | Attendance | Collected and disposed of under licence | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where heating oil comes from around Port Seton The heating oil we collect and dispose of in and around Port Seton tends to come from old steel tanks rusting from the inside that have to be emptied before removal.
