Condensation feeds a sludge and bacterial layer beneath the fuel, the oil oxidises, and the tank itself can corrode from the water sitting in it. The typical trigger is a heating change — oil to heat pump or gas — that strands a tank of oil. Removing it is quick once accessible, and the transfer note shows the tank was cleared for a sale or an estate. Disposal is about where the heating oil ends up and being able to prove it. Once collected it goes to a permitted facility for recovery or destruction, and you get a waste transfer note recording what left, when and where it went — your duty-of-care evidence if anyone ever asks. The disposal end matters most for compliance. Once lifted in Craigiebank Dundee, the fuel is routed to a licensed facility for recovery or destruction, and the paper trail is the point: your duty of care is discharged by evidence, not assurances. ## Local Scottish heating oil disposal in Craigiebank Dundee: the facts Fuel | Heating oil | Service | Collection and licensed disposal | Council area | Dundee City | Why it degrades | Kerosene or gas oil; collects water, sludge and bacteria and corrodes tanks | Typical sources | Tank decommissioning, heating changes, contamination, sales, spills, estates | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | SEPA | Typical cost | Quoted per litre | Attendance | Collected and disposed of under licence | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where heating oil comes from around Craigiebank Dundee We collect and dispose of heating oil across Craigiebank Dundee from farm, estate and small commercial heating-oil stores being cleared or downsized.
