Once collected, heating oil and its sludge go to a permitted facility for recovery or disposal, documented on a transfer note that is your duty-of-care record. Collection puts the burden on the carrier, not you: they attend, pump out the heating oil, inspect what held it and remove it under licence, leaving the transfer note behind as evidence. For collection in Torry Aberdeen the carrier comes to the fuel rather than the other way round. With the litres and access confirmed, the visit is quick, the vessel is left checked, and the transfer note is your proof it was lifted properly. ## Local Scottish heating oil collector in Torry Aberdeen: the facts Fuel | Heating oil | Service | Collection and removal | Council area | Aberdeen City | Postcode districts | AB11 | Why it degrades | Kerosene or gas oil; collects water, sludge and bacteria and corrodes tanks | Typical sources | Tank decommissioning, heating changes, contamination, sales, spills, estates | Classification | Hazardous waste — waste transfer note issued | Regulator | SEPA | Typical cost | Quoted per litre | Attendance | Booked collection, often same day | Helpline | 01295 380724 | ## Where heating oil comes from around Torry Aberdeen Most of the heating oil we collect near Torry Aberdeen originates in property sales and purchases where the tank must be emptied, and deceased estates cleared under duty of care. A registered carrier attends home, farm, depot, marina and commercial sites, pumps out the heating oil and issues a waste transfer note on site. **What counts as heating oil?** Both 28-second kerosene (the common domestic oil) and 35-second gas oil used by some older and agricultural boilers. We collect and dispose of both, plus tank sludge. **Do you remove the sludge as well as the oil?** Yes. The sludge and water at the bottom of a tank are part of the job and are collected with the oil, which is why proper clearance is more than pumping off clean fuel. **Is heating oil hazardous waste?** Yes. It cannot be tipped away, drained or left in a redundant tank. A registered carrier removes it and disposes of it through a permitted facility with a transfer note. **Can you help with a leaking or rusted tank?** We pump out the oil and sludge so a failing tank can be dealt with safely, and can advise on cleaning and decommissioning. Describe the tank when you call. ### One operator, four sites Fuel Fixer Scotland is the Scottish arm of Fuel Fixer Ltd.
