# Wrong fuel in Ireland? Read this before you call
**Short answer**
Wrong fuel in Ireland: do not start the engine, then call 01295 380724. Being straight with you — Fuel Fixer Scotland is a Scottish operator and does not run its own vans in Ireland. What we do is take the call, work out exactly what has gone into which tank, and connect you with a wrong-fuel drainer local to you. We list 615 towns across all 32 counties, north and south.

The mechanical advice does not change with the border. The response arrangement and the waste paperwork do.

[Call 01295 380724 — 24/7, we will connect you locally](tel:+441295380724)

### Ireland — how this works
Fuel Fixer Scotland is a Scottish operator. We do not run our own vans in Ireland, so we do not pretend to: what we do is take the call, work out exactly what has gone into which tank, and put you straight through to a wrong-fuel drainer covering your town.

The advice on this page is the same either side of the Irish Sea, because the mechanics are: do not start the engine, do not move the vehicle, and get the wrong fluid out before anything is run through the system. That part does not change with the jurisdiction. What does change is the waste regulator — in Ireland that is the [EPA](https://www.epa.ie/) and the local authority, not SEPA — and the drainer who attends will issue their own paperwork.

Call 01295 380724 and say where you are. If we cannot get someone to you, we will tell you that on the phone rather than take a booking we cannot keep.

Towns listed | 615 |
What we do | Diagnose on the phone and connect you with a local drainer |
What we do not do | Attend ourselves — our technicians work in Scotland |
First instruction | Do not start the engine |
Typical cost | Set by the attending drainer |

## What to do right now
- Do not turn the key or start the engine — that is what turns a drain into a repair.
- Do not move the vehicle. On a forecourt, apply the handbrake and tell the station staff.
- Call 01295 380724 with your location, your vehicle and which fuels were mixed. You get the price before we set off.
- A technician attends with a licensed drainage unit and makes the area safe.
- The contaminated fuel is pumped out and the fuel lines are flushed through.
- Clean fuel goes in, the vehicle is started and checked, and you drive away. The waste fuel leaves with us for compliant disposal.

## Common questions

**Do you cover your town yourselves?**
No. Fuel Fixer Scotland operates in Scotland. For your town in Ireland we connect you with a local wrong-fuel drainer rather than sending a van across the Irish Sea. Call 01295 380724 and we will make that connection.

**What should I do right now in your town?**
Exactly what you would do anywhere: do not start the engine, do not move the vehicle, and call for a drain. Starting it is what turns a straightforward drain into a fuel-system repair, and that is true in every country.

**What will it cost in Ireland?**
The local drainer sets their own price, so we will not quote you a figure we do not control. As a guide, the equivalent Scottish job runs from £150 for a straightforward drain. Ask the attending drainer to confirm before they travel.

**Who regulates waste fuel in Ireland?**
The Environmental Protection Agency and the relevant local authority, not SEPA, which covers Scotland only. The drainer who attends is responsible for their own waste documentation.

**Is wrong fuel any different in Ireland?**
Mechanically, no. The same fluid in the same tank does the same thing to the same components. Only the response arrangement and the waste paperwork differ.

**Why does a Scottish company have a page for your town?**
Because people in your town search for this and end up on Scottish and UK sites anyway. We would rather tell you plainly what we can and cannot do than take the call and disappoint you.
